Abstract

Expressive Speech Acts in the Comment Column of the Constitutional Court’s Instagram Posts on the Pronunciation of Verdicts and Decisions This research is motivated by interest in the controversial Constitutional Court post. The Constitutional Court has set an age limit for vice presidential candidates, which has sparked debate and also disagreements among people who see and read the post. This involves communication through the comments column of the Instagram account @mahkamahkonstitusi, resulting in written expressive speech. The problem in this study is: How are the expressive speech acts in the comments column of the Constitutional Court post on the verdict and decree hearing? The purpose of this study is to explore and collaborate on expressive speech acts in the comments column of the Constitutional Court on the verdict and decree hearing. This study uses a qualitative approach with the Content Analysis method. The data in this study are all utterances containing expressive speech forms in the Instagram account @mahkamahkonstitusi. The data source is expressive speech contained in the main comment column on the verdict and decree hearing post. Data collection techniques are documentation techniques, reading and note-taking techniques. Data analysis techniques in this study are coding, data classification, analyzing and finding relationships and report drafts. The data validity technique in this study is checking the realibity and checking the validity. The results of this study obtained 72 expressive speech acts of criticism, 6 utterances in the form of gratitude and no expressive speech acts of praise and interruption were found. The conclusion of this study is that the most common form of expressive speech act found is the form of expressive speech act of criticism.
