Abstract

The development of social media which continues to grow rapidly can help human life in various activities. One of them is TikTok social media which is known as the most widely used media today. TikTok presents content that can make the audience interested through the FYP (For Your Page) page. Departing from this phenomenon, this research aims to find out the content of #racunshopee on the TikTok platform on the consumptive behavior of women in the city of Pekanbaru. This study used a qualitative method with a descriptive research type that was carried out through observation, interviews and documentation techniques. Determining research informants using the Snowball Sampling technique consisting of 5 Pekanbaru city women. The results of this study show that audiences prefer to use TikTok because TikTok is a very up to date media regarding news that is currently happening, besides that only viewing the content # that they feel poisoned but do not generate the desire to immediately buy because of consideration beforehand. It turns out that the existence of consumptive behavior can lead to 2 aspects of consumptive behavior in informants, namely impulsive and excessive (wasteful) purchases.
