Abstract

Determining an inappropriate and inappropriate cement slurry mixture is one of the problems that often occurs in planning cement activities. One of the causes of cement failure is loss of fluid from the cement suspension into the permeable formation (filtration loss). Apart from that, an incorrect thickening time causes the annulus not to be completely filled and causes the cement to harden prematurely. To overcome this by using CMC additives, but industrial CMC is relatively expensive, researchers use pineapple leaf fiber waste as raw material for making carboxymethyl cellulose, because pineapple leaf fiber contains cellulose fiber of 69.5-71.5%. From the results of filtration loss research by adding CMC filtrate volume at a concentration of 0.1% - 0.3%, the filtration loss value was 214.69 ml153.94 ml, which is still in accordance with API standards for primary cementing. The greater the addition of CMC from pineapple leaf fiber, the volume of filtrate lost in filtration loss continues to decrease. The results of the thickening time test at a temperature of 40? (104°F) added CMC pineapple leaf fiber at a concentration of 0% - 0.4%, the thickening time value was 329 minutes - 362 minutes, while at a temperature of 60? (140°F) at a concentration of 0% - 0.4 %, namely 188 minutes - 266 minutes, meaning that the CMC of pineapple leaf fiber is very influential in slowing the hardening of cement, but the longest peak thickening time value from this test using a temperature of 40? at a concentration of 0.4% is 362 minutes. It can be proven that the higher the circulation temperature, the faster the hydration rate, so that the thickening time becomes shorter.
