Abstract
Production tubing is used to transport gas and oil to the surface. If the tubing size used is not appropriate, there will be adverse consequences. A tubing size that is too small will limit the production rate due to high friction, resulting in slow production. However, if the tubing is too large, there will be fluid loss due to too much slippage effect, resulting from too much fulide at the bottom of the well during the liquid lifting process. Inflow Performance Relationship curve analysis and nodal system analysis are required to determine whether the tubing size is appropriate or not. The results of these checks can be consolidated to get the right tubing size. The comparison analysis of tubing sizes with variations in diameter of 2.441 inches, 2.992 inches, 3.548 inch, 3.958 inch, 4.5 inch, and 5.92 inch using pipesim simulator was conducted in this study to determine the tubing size that yields optimal flow rate using IPR methods namely Vogel and Fetkovich. The research findings indicate that the tubing size resulting in optimal flow rate using Vogel's IPR is 4.5 inch with an optimal flow rate of 1797.939 STB/day, while for Fetkovich's IPR, the optimal tubing size is also 4.5 inch with an optimal flow rate of 1822.323 STB/day.
