Abstract

The implementation of the PAMSIMAS program is in order to support the achievement of one of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) targets, namely reducing by half the proportion of the population who do not have access to clean water and basic sanitation by 2015 through expanding the community-based development approach. In the implementation of the PAMSIMAS program, there are several problems, namely the lack of community empowerment to maintain sanitation equipment, the community still thinks that the person responsible for carrying out maintenance is the government or an institution that was formed, so there is a tendency for the community not to carry out maintenance. The aim of this research is to determine the factors that influence community participation in the achievement of the PAMSIMAS program and the influence of community participation in the achievement of the PAMSIMAS program. The method used to determine the factors that influence community participation in the achievement of the PAMSIMAS program is qualitative analysis, and the method used to determine the effect of community participation on the achievement of the PAMSIMAS program is simple linear regression analysis. Based on the research results, it is known that factors that influence community participation are found, namely gender, age, education level, income level, livelihood and level of knowledge about the PAMSIMAS program and community participation has a positive and significant effect on the achievement of the Community Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation (PAMSIMAS) program. ) in Bencah Lesung Village, Tenayan Raya District.
