Abstract

Bones are one of the most important organs for humans. How significant the function of the bones and the body is, so what if there is damage then the body's function is automatically bampered and does not function properly. Pens are implants made of metal, generally stainless steel or titanium,which are durable and strong. This implant is a support device that can be used to treat broken bones or fractures, in addition to casts and splints. Chicken egg shells have been used as a resource for calcium in the production of nutrients. Chicken egg shells are a medium that is useful for protecting the contents contained therein. The shell of a chicken egg contains about 97% calcium carbonate. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of a mixture of eggshell powder with a ratio of lycal resin composition. After testing the compressive strength, the highest results were obtained with a composition ratio of 70% eggshell powder: 30% lycal resin with a compressive strength value of 1.407 MPa. Meanwhile, in the brinell hardness test, the highest yield remained at a composition ratio of 70% eggshell powder: 30% lycal resin with a hardness value of 6.840 kgmm2. After carrying out the above tests, it was then followed by microstructural observations with the best results still being at a composition ratio of 70% eggshell powder: 30% 1ycal resin.
