Abstract
ST41 stell is widely used in various applications involving welding. As with other carbon steels, the welding process involving heating and cooling can cause changes in structure and grain. The aim of this research is to analyze Non PWHT and Temperature PWHT on the hardness and bending strength of ST41 steel SMAW welded joints. The current used for welding is 70 A and for PWHT using temperatures of 600?, 650?, and 700? with a holding time of 60 minutes and cooling in air. The highest impact test results were found in standard specimens with a value of 0,8 J/mm 2 , while the lowest were found in non PWHT specimens with a value of 0,5 J/mm 2 . Impact prices have increased due to high temperature changes. For the bending test, the highest value was found in the standard specimen with a value of 17,4 MPa and the lowest value was found in the PWHT 700? specimen with a value of 13,7 MPa. The higher the bending value, the lower the bending value, in contrast to the impact value where the higher the temperature, the higher the impact value. The highest change in length or elongation in the test specimen was the PWHT 600? test specimen with the highest value of 53%, while the lowest value was 50,1% in the standard test specimen, the specimen that experienced an increase in elongation experienced ducility. For microstructure testing, there are ferrite and pearlite structures in ST41 steel with fine grains.
