Abstract

In the natural gas industry, the CO2 gas separation process is very important because this gas is a corrosive gas (acid gas). The presence of CO2 can cause damage to gas well pipes, to process the acid gas contained in sour natural gas (1.7 mol% H2S and 4.13 mol% CO2) in the industrial world the permitted acid gas content is according to contract regulations. The H2S gas content is around 4 ppm and CO2 about 2% in the natural gas stream. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out a desorption process in a distillation apparatus which produces sweet gas by mixing compounds using lean DEA with a composition of 25%, 28%, 32% and a temperature of 85ºC, 95ºC, 115ºC. This research was conducted to determine the efficiency of sweet gas, both CO2 and H2S, in the desorption process using the Aspen Hysys V. 10 data simulation used in lean DEA. Researchers compared the efficiency between DEA 25%, 28%, 32%, and temperatures of 85ºC, 95ºC, 115ºC. The results obtained from the sweetgas DEA 25% CO2 0,00001, H2S 0,0000, DEA 28% CO2 0,00001, H2S 0,0000, DEA 32% CO2 0,00001, H2S 0,0000, lean DEA efficiency at DEA 28% with a temperature of 95ºC are 0.2802.
