Abstract
The majority of home industries in Pekanbaru still use manual cutting. Processed food products are increasingly popular in people's consumption patterns. With so many requests for processed food raw materials, it demands production in large quantities. Processed food products are mostly made in home industries where the majority still use manual production equipment which cannot be produced in large quantities. This manual method, apart from causing problems for the cutter, is also relatively low in productivity because producing 20 kg/day can take a long time. So the author intends to design a multi-purpose slicer using the Programmable Logic Controller system for small and upward industries and also to help entrepreneurs guarantee the quality of the products produced, shortening production time.
