Abstract
Surfactant Injection is a Chemical EOR method used to overcome the decline in oil production. In selecting the surfactant to be injected, a screening test will be carried out first according to the characteristics of the reservoir. In this research, a combination of anionic and amphoteric surfactants was carried out. The parameters that will be used in this research include different ratios of 1:1, 1:2, 2:1 and 1:3 with a surfactant solution concentration of 0.5; 1.0 ; 1.5 ; 2.0 and 2.5%. In this research, researchers will use several types of solvents, including butyl cellulose, toluene and xylene with concentrations of 0.1% and 0.5% in the surfactant solution. This research was conducted to determine compatibility, thermal stability, functional groups and phase behavior for each ratio and concentration value of the surfactant solution, and researchers will analyze the type and concentration of solvent used. The results of the compatibility testing showed that there were 42 samples of compatible surfactant solutions. The most compatible solution is butyl cellulose with a total of 16 samples, while the solvent concentration is 0.5%. Then, thermal stability testing resulted in 41 samples passing at a temperature of 60oC and the stability of the solution was observed. There was winsor type III or middle phase in 4 samples in 1:3, 0.5% surfactant solution with solvent types T0.1%, T0.5%, X0.1% and X0.5%. In this optimal solution, the results from the FTIR spectrum test showed that there were O-H, C=C, C-N and C-H groups.
