Abstract
Blowout Preventer (BOP) is a special tool used to seal, control, and monitor oil and gas wells to prevent explosive uncontrolled releases of crude oil and natural gas from the well. Currently there are 31 wells that will be analyzed at the Rokan WK, all of which use BOP Class III B. Analysis carried out by the company found that several wells were over speck. Therefore, analysis and optimization is needed using the Maximum Anticipated Surface Pressure (MASP) method to determine the right BOP design. Size and rating affect the specifications of pressure control equipment such as BOP and casing strings. To determine the correct configuration, pore pressure, fluid content, hydrostatic pressure and TVD calculations are used. Based on the research results obtained from the 31 wells analyzed, 29 wells should use BOP Class II with pressure below 300 psi and 2 wells should use BOP Class III A pressure above 301 psi. Based on the new purchase price for BOP class II, III A, and III B, there is a difference in the price difference for BOP class II and class III B, which is IDR. 1,927,458,765 and BOP class III A and III B is Rp. 937,684,505. Analysis of the duration of BOP class II nipple up is 10 hours and BOP class III A/B is 13.5 hours. The difference in duration between BOP Class II and Class III A/B is 3.5 hours. The BOP currently used by PHR can be optimized by using Class II BOP for 17 wells, so that the cost of Class II BOP components is cheaper, and the nipple up duration is faster.
