Abstract
Excessive infrastructure development in Pekanbaru City has caused the closure of water catchments and water channels due to the lack of green open space (RTH), therefore it is necessary to have an environmentally friendly drainage system with the basic principle of controlling water by increasing the opportunity for water to seep into the ground. Therefore, this research aims to determine the volume of runoff at the research point which focuses on the drainage channel in the Athaya Housing Complex, Pekanbaru City. This research carried out calculations starting from calculating the planned rainfall intensity for the 2012-2021 anniversary period. Then proceed with calculating the storage volume and flood discharge using the EPA SWMM 5.2 tool by inputting data on existing drainage dimensions, elevation, percentage of impermeable area and permeable area. Next, carry out scenario planning to reduce runoff by utilizing LID technology, namely Underdrain Box Storage, which applies this technology to drainage bodies with an absorption system such as an absorption well. Based on the results of the underdrain box storage planning, it was found that the residential runoff discharge generated from roof areas and roads was Qplan 1,761 m3/second, the average percentage of storage volume for the 10 year return period before and after the implementation of underdrain box storage was 33.97% to 67 .93% at 2 channel points where each channel is given 4 storage boxes so that the overflowing water can be absorbed sufficiently where the absorption time is in channel 1 storage box which is 0.85 hours and channel 2 storage boxes which is 0.52 hours .
