Abstract

This study is motivated by the existence of some students who are less conducive, the presentation of learning is less interesting, the students lack focus in the learning process, some students lack desire to learn and to succeed, and some students lack encouragement in learning such as they do not pay attention during the learning process. The aim of the study is to investigate the level of influence of using video media on students’ learning motivation in grade X at SMKN 4 Pekanbaru. This is a quantitative study with a correlational approach. Meanwhile, the population of the study is all students in grade X of Accounting class at SMKN 4 Pekanbaru, totaling 105 students, with a sample of 27 students. The data collection techniques of the study are questionnaires and documentation. Based on the results of simple linear regression analysis, it is known that a significance value is 0.019, because 0.019 < 0.05, so Ha is accepted, it means that the alternative hypothesis is accepted. So, it can be concluded that there is an influence of using video media on students’ motivation in learning Islamic Studies in grade X at SMKN 4 Pekanbaru. The level of influence of variable X (video media) on variable Y (learning motivation) is 0.200 or 20,0% which in the interval 0,20-0,399 with the criteria “low influence”. Meanwhile, the level of relationship between video media and learning motivation is 0.448 or 44.8%, with the criteria "Quite Strong". It can be predicted that the influence of using video media on students’ learning motivation based on a regression coefficient is 0.594 (59.4%), it can be stated that when the use of video media increases, then the students’ learning motivation will increase by 0.594 (59.4%), and vice versa if the use of video media decrease, so it can predicted that the students’ learning motivation will also decrease by 0.594 (59.4%).
