Abstract

Labor protection is important in work implementation practices. Work accidents often occur due to company operational activities. Therefore, special attention is needed in work safety, both for the government, companies and the workforce itself. The government has an important role in this matter, as regulated in Article 27 paragraph 2 of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia which states "Every citizen has the right to work and a living worthy of humanity". The main problem in this research is what are the factors that become obstacles for PT companies. Indah Kiat Pulp and Paper Perawang in implementing occupational safety and health (K3) regulations based on Law Number 1 of 1970 and how to implement occupational safety and health (K3) for workers based on Law Number 1 of 1970 at PT. Indah Kiat Pulp and Paper Tbk Perawang (Case Study in the Paper Division). The method in this research is an empirical legal research method, namely research carried out by going directly to the field to obtain information and data through interviews and questionnaires. Meanwhile, the nature of the research is analytical descriptive, that is, this research presents a clear, detailed and systematic picture of the problems to be studied. Based on the research results, it can be understood that the obstacle factors faced by PT. Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper Perawang in carrying out work health and safety is that workers do not have awareness of the dangers of the work they do and do not agree with the implementation of work relations that have been determined and workers are not talented. Meanwhile, obstacles in implementing occupational health and safety protection for workers at PT. Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper Perawang is quite good, it's just that there are several employees who experience work accidents while carrying out work which is caused by several factors, the most important factor is the element of negligence on the part of the workers themselves because they do not heed instructions from the boss/employer on site he worked on it.
