Abstract

ABSTRACT Prehistoric animals (dinosaurs) are remnants of the prehistoric era, now existing only as fossilized bones, many of which have yet to be discovered. Knowledge about these ancient creatures is somewhat limited due to a lack of appeal, as information is often presented solely through books or encyclopedias. To address this issue, an introduction media was designed using Augmented reality (AR) technology. Making this application uses the MDLC (Multimedia Development Life Cycle) method which consists of six stages, concept, design, material collecting, assembly, testing, dan distribution. the application was developed utilizing the Blender, Unity, and ARCore SDK Library and a markerless technique. This markerless approach simplifies user interaction as it does not require markers to display 3D animated objects. Testing results indicate that the application can display objects at a minimum distance of 60 cm objects are not displayed within 30 cm. Additionally, the application is capable of rendering 3D objects both indoors and outdoors in areas with textured surfaces and light intensity above 10 lux and objects do not appear with 0 lux light. User testing results, involving 31 respondents, demonstrated an accuracy rate of 84.82%. This suggests that the designed application can be effectively implemented as a medium for introducing prehistoric animals.
