Abstract

Bukittinggi City is a city with various tourist attractions, ranging from natural, cultural, to man-made. Problems such as environmental issues, traffic congestion, inadequate facilities, and a lack of infrastructure have led to many complaints from visiting tourists. The purpose of this study is to develop Bukittinggi City's tourist attractions using Big Data through Google Maps and TripAdvisor reviews. Data was collected through observation, questionnaires, interviews, documentation, and by taking reviews from Google Maps and TripAdvisor. The analysis technique in this study is a qualitative descriptive approach to identify the tourist attractions in Bukittinggi City by taking the top 10 tourist attractions, and also to identify the potential and problems that exist. Spatial analysis was also carried out by creating a map of the distribution of tourist attractions, as well as IFAS-EFAS analysis to identify relevant internal and external factors in using SWOT analysis in the development of Bukittinggi City's tourist attractions. The results of this study show that the tourist attractions in Bukittinggi City are very diverse, such as Jam Gadang, Bung Hatta Birthplace Museum, Pasa Ateh, Kinantan Zoo and Cultural Park, Adat Nan Baanjuang Museum, Fort de Kock Fortress, Sianok Gorge, Japanese Hole, Los Lambuang, and Bung Hatta Library, with potential and problems in the form of unique history, culture, and natural beauty. There are several problems such as a lack of infrastructure facilities, and aggressive street vendors towards tourists, the potential and problem can be developed using a Grow and Build strategy in an effort to expand and strengthen the attractiveness of Bukittinggi City's tourist attractions aimed at increasing the number of visitors, extending the duration of visits, and improving the quality of infrastructure at tourist attractions.
