Abstract

The rapid development of the Kampar Regency area has had an impact on the development of several sub-districts which have the potential for high growth and economic activity. With the development of this area, it creates an even service structure for all sub-district residents in the Kampar Regency area through the distribution of facilities and infrastructure as well as the economic sector with the aim of providing beneficial spreading effect in the back area or hinterland and reducing similar problems that will occur in the future. The aim of this research is to analyze sub-districts that have the potential to become centers of regional growth in Kampar Regency. The approach in this research is deductive. This research is classified as a deductive approach because the researcher examines common problems based on testing a theory consisting of variables. The type of research used in this research is exploratory, this aims to look deeper into a problem, in order to have a better understanding of the existing problem. In this research, exploratory research is used to find the results of the problems studied and then develop them for use in subsequent research. The method used in this research is a quantitative method. Based on the analysis of the Marshall centrality index, it is known that the first hierarchy is Siak Hulu District with a total weighting of the Marshall centrality index of 117 so that this sub-district is the center of growth in Kampar Regency. Based on the results of the gravity analysis, it is known that the sub-district with the highest interaction magnitude is in Tambang Sub-district. Tambang District has interactions with Siak Hulu District with an interaction size of 6798170.07 people/Km2, while the sub-district with the smallest interaction size with a total interaction size of 109664.68 people/Km2 is in the interaction between Siak Hulu District and Kampar Kiri Hulu District. The distance between the two sub-districts is 104 km, so this results in the movement of interaction between Siak Hulu District and Kampar Kiri Hulu District being quite far.
