Abstract

In carrying out the activities of an educational institution, often an available budget is not managed with a structured plan and strategy so that it often results in not achieving the agreed goals. Budget management is needed in order to be able to manage a good budget, planned, measurable and can be monitored periodically. The Faculty of Engineering, Riau Islamic University is one of the faculties in a private tertiary institution located in Riau Province called Riau Islamic University. Currently, the Faculty of Engineering, Riau Islamic University manages the budget in a conventional way, namely using Microsoft Excel so that working employees often find it difficult due to the high risk of data damage or loss as a result of conventional management. Based on this fact, this study aims to design a more effective and efficient monitoring or monitoring system. In this study, an application was created that can manage user data, categories, sub categories, sub category items, and budget data. Users (users) in this application are Admin, Faculties, Deputy Deans, and Study Programs. The programming language used in the design of this application is PHP (native) and Javascript assisted with HTML and CSS. To test system functions, a blackbox test was carried out from the application that was made and based on the results of application testing to the user, the percentage obtained was 75.84%, so that this application is expected to become a budget management information system for the Faculty of Engineering, Islamic University of Riau.
