Abstract

This study responds to the escalating global water scarcity issue, especially in regions with arid climates. Technological development becomes imperative to address water scarcity, and one solution is a water harvesting machine using thermoelectric cooling technology. This research focuses on the impact of this technology on the performance of the water harvester machine over time. The primary objective is to optimize the cooling technology to enhance water collection efficiency. Data were collected over 3 hours at three different fan rotation speeds. The research findings show a linear increase in water volume over time, especially at speeds 1 (1000 RPM), 2 (1500 RPM), and 3 (2000 RPM). However, speed 2 experienced a decrease in the first 30 minutes, while speed 3 showed an increase during the same period. These findings indicate that water production capacity is influenced by fan rotation speed (RPM), temperature, and air humidity. In conclusion, this research provides insights into the impact of cooling technology on the performance of the water harvester machine and encourages further research considering variations in temperature and air humidity, as well as other external factors. It is hoped that this will support the development of a more efficient water harvester technology to address water scarcity, especially in regions in need of clean water.
