Abstract

The Modern-Based Traditional Market in Teluk Kuantan City, Kuantan Singingi Regency was officially functioned in 2019. Its capacity is able to accommodate more than 500 traders. Based on initial observations in the field, Teluk Kuantan Modern-Based Traditional Market already has a parking area, but it has not been functioning optimally because there are still several sellers and buyers who park their vehicles in the wrong place causing many parking areas that are not in their position and seem not to be well organized and tidy so that in terms of security and comfort the parking lot is also not fulfilled. One way to solve this problem is to assess the perception of the community as market users regarding alternative solutions to problems in the traditional market parking lot. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the Utilization of Parking Area Functions in the Modern-Based Traditional Market in Teluk Kuantan City Based on Community Perceptions. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. It is necessary to improve the parking area for this Modern-Based Traditional Market and equip it with supporting facilities so that people can park comfortably. For this reason, in addition to continuing to socialize and educate the public, parking control must be tightened so that people can park in an orderly manner so that movement circulation within the market becomes safer, more comfortable and better. and Make Regional Regulations Regulating Controlling Parking. The parking condition of the Modern-Based Traditional Market in Teluk Kuantan City is still not good. Based on the total score of the public's perception of the parking space utilization program at the modern-based traditional market, Teluk Kuantan City is said to be quite good with a score of 276. There are several evaluations that can be input, namely improving the condition of parking lots, tightening control, and making regional regulations that regulate parking control.
