Abstract
The design of the crumb rubber modified asphalt mixture on the wear-layer laston (AC-WC) begins with laboratory mixture experiments, mixture experiments in AMP and overlay and compaction experiments in the field must obtain optimum asphalt content, optimum aggregate content and field density according to job standard density. The purpose of this study was to determine the design of the definitive job mix formula, the presentation of the results of overlay and compaction experiments in the field, and the comparison of marshall characteristic values to the optimum asphalt content of crumb rubber modified asphalt with conventional asphalt penetration of 60/70 Secondary data collection obtained from PT. Pebana Adi Sarana laboratory for aggregate, asphalt, and mixture testing. The methods used in this study are the Marshall test method to obtain optimum asphalt levels and the core drill method to obtain field density values. The quality of the mixture characteristics resulting from the marshall test was corrected in accordance with the special specifications of the 2015 bina marga-3. From the test results of the parameter value of the asphalt marshall, the resulting crumb rubber modification in the form of stability, flow, MQ, density, VIM, VMA and VFB still meets the specifications of the special specifications of interim-3 bina marga 2015. And the results of overlay and compaction experiments with variations in trajectories, variations in compaction trajectories in the field, namely 18 and 20 passes that meet the special specifications of interim-3 bina marga 2015 are 2 tandem roller passes – 20 PTR passes, namely job standard density (JSD) of at least 98% obtained 98.6%. In the comparison of crumb rubber modified asphalt with conventional asphalt, 60/70 penetration obtained the value of crumb rubber modified asphalt, the optimum asphalt content of 6.29% and the stability value of crumb rubber modified asphalt was 1219.6 kg, while conventional asphalt penetration of 60/70 obtained the optimum asphalt content value of 5.87% and the stability value of 1083.6 kg. So it can be concluded that the resulting crumb rubber modified asphalt mixture is more optimal.
