Abstract

Concrete is a mixture consisting of Portland cement or other hydraulic cement, coarse aggregate, fine aggregate and water, with or without additives that form a strong and stable solid mass. The design of the SCC mix is slightly different from conventional concrete mixes. For concrete that is categorized as SCC, the use of an admixture that can reduce water use and obtain concrete with a high level of workability is absolutely necessary. A concrete mixture can be said to be Self Compacting Concrete if it is fresh (fresh concrete) and meets the flowability This research used a 15cm x 30cm cylinder with a percentage of BASF additives (master glenium ace 8595) of 0.4%, 0.8% and 1.2% of the cement weight. The method used for calculating the concrete mix (mix design) is based on SNI 7656-2012. Testing was carried out at 3, 7 and 28 days of age. The slump value resulting from adding BASF 0.4% slump averaged 36.33cm. BASF 0.8% average slump is 47.33cm and BASF 1.2% average slump is 58cm. Each percentage of added additives increases the slump value of flow concrete and the compressive strength value of SCC concrete increases which is influenced by the large percentage of master glenium ace (8595) additive used. Using a percentage of master glenium ace (8595) additive of 1.2%, segregation (not homogeneous) occurs in the condition of the concrete which can result in the physical form of the concrete being porous. The ideal condition for using the percentage of master glenium ace (8595) additive in the research is 0.8% of the cement weight to obtain the ideal slump flow value and the planned compressive strength value.
