Abstract

The basic environmental infrastructure is the basic physical equipment in a residential area which is very important for the community as users or beneficiaries of the infrastructure. The decline in the quality of residential environmental infrastructure often occurs in densely populated areas, waterfront areas, or areas with lowlands, which can lead to the emergence of urban slums such as in Meranti Pandak Village, Pekanbaru City. Poor environmental conditions are caused by inadequate environmental infrastructure and facilities, as seen from the many damaged roads with potholes and shallow drainage or clogged with scattered garbage. The purpose of this study was to identify the condition and quality level of environmental basic infrastructure in order to make efforts to improve the basic environmental infrastructure of settlements in Meranti Pandak Village. The method used in identifying the condition of basic residential infrastructure in the Meranti Pandak Village uses a mixed method in the form of qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis with direct observation of the road network, drainage and waste management. The weighting analysis method was used to identify the quality level of basic environmental infrastructure, then the results of the analysis and interviews were used to recommend efforts to improve the quality of basic environmental infrastructure in Meranti Pandak Village. Based on the analysis that has been done, the results show that the level of quality of road infrastructure has received the "good" criteria, but there are still a few problems in the form of natural roads and potholes. The drainage and solid waste infrastructure still needs to be improved because the level of infrastructure is still classified as "moderate". Based on the results of the research, it is recommended to carry out improvements to all basic environmental infrastructure by carrying out construction, normalization and maintenance, as well as carrying out socialization programs for public awareness about waste management.
