Abstract

The high poverty rate in Enok Subdistrict has a great impact on the rate of economic growth, this also has an impact on regional development, and the characteristics of poverty are not yet detailed as to what is happening in Enok Subdistrict. The high poverty rate in Enok District greatly affects the socio-economic community in Enok District, such as education level, employment status, income, number of dependents, and limited capital are factors that affect poverty levels. the purpose of this research is to identify the factors that cause poverty in Enok District, Indragiri Hilir Regency. The method used in this study is descriptive quantitative with scoring and weighting analysis techniques using a Likert scale. The results of this study are 1) The characteristics of poverty in Enok District are due to a relatively low lack of access and educational opportunities, lack of employment opportunities and business opportunities, including limitations in access to capital and skills and qualifications of the workforce. Inadequate infrastructure, Lack of access to health services. 2) the educational factor gets a total continuum value of 1,835 which is in a very decisive category. The total continuum value of land condition factors is 1,795 which is in the very decisive category. From the infrastructure factor, a value of 1,885 is obtained which is in the very decisive category. The total value of the continuum factor for health facilities is 1,495 which is in the determining category. The employment factor gets a value of 1,550 which is in the determining category.Poverty, society, factors.
