Abstract
A decrease in production caused by formation damage is the presence of scale. Crust formation is considered a significant problem. So, if it is not handled seriously, over time it will result in ongoing problems such as well pressure, decreasing formation, decreasing pipe inner diameter, decreasing oil flow rate, and potentially shutting down the well. One method used to reduce scale is matrix acidizing. Matrix acidizing is carried out by injecting acid. In this research, the acid used was EDTA 2Na and a mixture of EDTA 2Na with hydrofluoric acid and tested on synthetic cores. Mixing the acid can dissolve scale and increase the porosity value. Based on this research, matrix acidification was carried out on the synthetic core with EDTA 2Na acid in concentrations of 10ml, 15ml, 20ml and 25ml and a mixture of EDTA 2Na 25ml with hydrofluoric acid in concentrations of 3%, 5%, 7% and 9% with a soaking time of 10 minutes and a temperature of 125? C. The results obtained from using EDTA 2Na can increase the porosity value with a higher concentration, namely a concentration of 25ml with a porosity value of 19,3%, while for soaking with a mixture of EDTA 2Na 25ml and HF 3%, 5%, 7% and 9 % more effective using a mixture of EDTA 2Na 25ml with HF 7% which succeeded in increasing the porosity value by 21,5%
