Abstract
The ability of the Electric Submersible Pump to lift fluid can decrease at a certain time, so it is necessary to redesign the pump such as adjusting the number of stages, because the number of stages installed is not correct. In addition, determining the frequency of the pump that is not appropriate can affect the decline in the ability to produce fluid from the well. Well X is an artificial lift well that uses an ESP pump with the IND 750 type, which has a total of 213 stages with a pump efficiency of 57.9%. The IND 750 pump produces a production flow rate of 759 BFPD which is still far below the well's optimal flow rate of 969.33 BFPD. On the pump performance curve graph, the IND 750 pump has a capacity range of 550-950 BFPD and maximum pump efficiency at 58%. Sensitivity analysis of stages and frequency variations was carried out in the form of scenarios from scenario I to scenario XVII, with the number of stages analysed as 149, 150, 151, and so on up to 219 stages, and the frequency of 66 Hz, 67 Hz, 68 Hz, 69 Hz, 70 Hz, 71 Hz, 72 Hz, 73 Hz, 74 Hz, 75 Hz, 76 Hz, 77 Hz, 78 Hz, 79 Hz, 80 Hz, 81 Hz, and 82 Hz with the aim of determining the number of stages and the appropriate frequency at well X so that the well production flow rate is close to the optimal flow rate. The number of stages and the frequency are selected based on the flow rate that is close to the optimal flow rate with the maximum efficiency of the pump as the parameter. Based on the research obtained, the selected scenario result is scenario XVII, where the number of stages installed is 150 stages and the frequency is 82 Hz with a production flow rate of 947.6 BFPD and a pump efficiency of 58%.
