Abstract
When a well has multiple perforation zones, the packer must separate the producing and non-producing zones. Packers are tools used in well completion operations to ensure that fluid flow comes only from the producing zone. Packers have several parts, one of which is rubber, which acts as an adhesive for the casing wall. Rubber degradation is one of the causes of packer damage due to well temperature, which affects the shape and performance of the rubber packer material. This study aims to analyze the performance of the Arrowset 1-X packer and determine the degradation time achieved during the run-time. For the pressure range that the ARS 1-X packer and the force packer can withstand, calculate the hydrostatic pressure at which the rubber develops and the zones are separated, and determine the success of the separation of the non-producing zone after the packer is set. The degradation time of rubber achieved during the production of the well. Based on the force packer value of 15734 pounds, this pressure would cause the rubber packer to expand or stick to the casing wall, successfully closing the unoccupied zone and the effects of the hydrostatic pressure of 1441 psi, improving the performance of Arrowset 1-X. Even though the packer is pushed slightly upwards in position, the pressure at force up is greater than the pressure at force down, so this packer can withstand pressures of 7000 psi to 10000 psi, thus isolating the zone in Well X. Adjusting the coefficients to reduce the original weight of the packer, which is also affected by buoyancy, by approximately 25%, ensures that the pressure the packer will be subjected to will allow it to survive for a long time in Well X. The estimated time for rubber degradation has been identified as reaching a degradation level of 35% during 12 years of operation at total temperatures in the well.
