Abstract

One of the problems often encountered in the petroleum production process is a decrease in production due to the deposition of crust or crust on the production pipe. To overcome this problem, it can be done by injecting scale inhibitors. There are two types of scale inhibitors commonly used, namely organic inhibitors and inorganic inhibitors. This study analyzed the effect of acetic acid pineapple skin extract with variations in soaking time on the CaCO3 scale. The manufacture of acetic acid pineapple skin extract was obtained by the fermentation method and the scale reduction process was carried out by the weight loss method at variations in soaking time for 30 minutes, 60 minutes and 90 minutes. Based on the study, the scale that was reduced in 30 minutes using acetic acid was 0.21 grams, 60 minutes was 0.27 grams, and 90 minutes was 0.36 grams. While the scale that was reduced with a mixture of acetic acid and HCL was 0.12 grams, 0.23 grams in 60 minutes and 0.43 grams in 90 minutes.
