Abstract

Global warming is a global environmental issue that affects many countries, including Indonesia, as evidenced by phenomena such as droughts, forest fires, ecosystem degradation, and the melting of polar ice. The primary causes of global warming include environmental degradation, energy wastage, and air pollution. One solution to address this issue is the implementation of the Green Building concept, which aims to reduce negative environmental impacts and create positive effects throughout the building's life cycle. In Indonesia, Green Buildings are certified by the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI), with one of the assessment criteria being Appropriate Site Development (ASD). This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Green Building concept at the Riau Creative Hub building in Pekanbaru, specifically in terms of Appropriate Site Development. Through the Greenship New Building Version 1.2 assessment analysis, this study also calculates the percentage of Green Building criteria implementation at the building. The results show that the Riau Creative Hub building has implemented the Green Building concept in the Appropriate Site Development aspect because it has already met the Required Criteria and several points from 7 credit criteria according to the Greenship assessment. The Riau Creative Hub building obtained 41.17%, which was achieved by earning 7 out of 17 maximum points on the Appropriate Site Development criteria. The criteria that were met include Site Selection, Community Accessibility, Public Transportation, and Site Landscaping. This study provides an overview of the building’s efforts to support sustainable development and environmentally-friendly land management.
