Abstract

The rapid development of technology in the field of construction, provides many benefits for completing projects with good quality, minimum cost, and in a short time. In its application, there is an obstacle factor in the development of construction projects, namely the calculation of quantity take-off. Errors in the calculation of quantity take-off can result in the potential for material waste and the amount of the cost budget incurred. From these problems, the BIM concept comes as a solution. BIM is a process of managing and representing digital information models of a building or infrastructure that includes aspects such as geometry, materials, components and construction processes. The BIM-based software used is Autodesk Revit which is able to perform an automatic quantity take-off calculation process after modeling. This research uses quantitative methods with secondary data in the form of DED drawings and RAB obtained from the Contactor. Based on the acquisition of data from these methods, the objectives of this research are to 3D model the object observed with the BIM concept, find out the difference between the calculation of Quantity Take-Off from BIM and conventional results, and determine the amount of potential waste material based on the comparison of Quantity Take-Off from BIM and conventional results. The results of this study on the calculation of the total material requirements of the work there is also a difference between the volume results of the BIM method and conventional methods, with concrete material amounting to 34,987 m3 and steel material amounting to 1968,509 kg more conventional methods than BIM. By using BIM with Autodesk Revit software, it is able to minimize errors in calculating the volume of work. From the research that has been done, quantity take-off using BIM can be seen the amount of potential waste material of 8,743% in concrete and 2,972% in steel, more efficient BIM. This also has an impact on cost savings of Rp 291,040,880.82 from the total project budget of Rp 9,814,202,368.06. So it is evident that using BIM for quantity take-off does reduce potential material waste.
