Abstract

The city of Tanjungpinang is located in the Riau Islands Province, has coral and silt or clay soil types, but in practice there is one location 50 meters long where the subgrade does not reach the minimum standard density. The aim of the research was to determine the soil density value in the form of the maximum dry soil unit weight value and the unconfined compressive strength value obtained after varying the mixture of sand, cement and DIFA Soil Stabilizer. The research was carried out using experimental laboratory testing methods. Soil stabilization by mixing original soil plus sand, cement and DIFA Soil Stabilizer. The composition used is original soil plus sand at a composition of 0%, 10%, 20% of the dry weight of the soil, cement 8% of the dry weight of the soil plus weight of sand, and DIFA Soil Stabilizer 2% of the weight of the cement. The testing method is with a standard proctor and UCS test to obtain density values and unconfined compressive strength values of stabilized soil. The soil density value based on the standard proctor test is the dry unit weight value of the original soil of 1,410 kg/m3, a mixture of soil plus 0% sand and 8% cement of 1,450 kg/m3, a mixture of 10% sand and 8% cement of 1,470 kg/m3, and a mixture of 20% sand and 8% cement amounting to 1,490 kg/m3. The original soil UCS test results obtained were 291.50 kN/m2. The test results for mixed soil with the addition of 0% sand, 8% cement and 2% DIFA Soil Stabilizer were 991.25 kN/m2. The test results for mixed soil with the addition of 10% sand, 8% cement and 2% DIFA Soil Stabilizer were 1,241.59 kN/m2. The test results for mixed soil with the addition of 20% sand, 8% cement and 2% DIFA Soil Stabilizer were 1,743.63 kN/m2.
