Abstract
Normal concrete is a composite material made from several materials using the main ingredients, namely cement, fine, coarse aggregate, water and additional materials with a certain composition if needed. To achieve the planned compressive strength of concrete, one of the implementations of concrete work that must be considered is concrete curing or maintenance. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of better concrete maintenance. In this study, cylindrical concrete samples were used, the samples were molded and left in the mold for ± 24 hours, 12 samples were made. In this study, the treatment used was water immersion and membrane (covered with burlap) and the aggregates used were andesite and sandstone, Compressive strength test analysis was carried out in each laboratory for 28 days of treatment, the number of samples for each treatment and aggregate was 3 samples, the desired concrete compressive strength f'c 30 MPa for rigid pavement. The results of this research show that concrete with water immersion treatment of andesite stone aggregates reaches the design compressive strength, while the immersion treatment of sandstone aggregates, andesite stone membranes, sandstone membranes does not reach the design strength. After carrying out calculations in this research, the average compressive strength of concrete during the 28 day treatment period for the andesite stone was 32.37 MPa, and the sandstone was 10.76 MPa, while for the concrete with the andesite membrane, the sandstone membrane was 21.70 MPa. and 10.76 MPa, in field work it is very difficult to apply this type of water immersion treatment, however water immersion of andesite stone exceeds the design quality compared to andesite and sandstone membrane treatment.
