Abstract

In general, the types of cement in Indonesia are PCC (Portland Composite Cement) and OPC (Ordinary Portland Cement), where the lime content in OPC (Ordinary Portland Cement) cement is more than in PCC (Portland Composite Cement) cement. OPC (Ordinary Portland Cement) cement itself has the advantage of drying quickly and can be used for all grades of concrete that have high workability. Because concrete is often in environments such as sea water, ground water, and industrial areas that contain lots of sulfates, it is susceptible to sulfate attack, which can reduce the durability of concrete. Sulfate attack can cause the constituent materials to be destroyed because sulfates are contaminated with waste from several chemicals that damage concrete.. In this research, normal water (well water) was used as a mixer in making concrete. Several types of water were used to soak the test objects, namely sea water, peat water, river water, rain water and coconut water. There were 18 cylindrical test specimens measuring (150 mm x 300 mm), maintenance and compressive strength tests of the test specimens were carried out at 28 days. Concrete compressive strength analysis was carried out using the method in SNI 7656:2012. Based on the research, the results obtained compared the compressive strength values of concrete with various types of immersion water. From all concrete tests, the compressive strength of normal water concrete was 27.65 Mpa, the compressive strength of sea water concrete was 23.40 Mpa, the compressive strength of peat water concrete was 20.10, the compressive strength of river water concrete was 25.10 Mpa, the compressive strength rainwater concrete is 22.27 Mpa, compressive strength of coconut water concrete is 23.97 Mpa. From the test results it is known that the compressive strength value of concrete in various types of soaking water will experience a decrease in the quality of concrete soaked in normal water, this is influenced by the pH contained in each type of soaking water. Comparison of the average compressive strength values of concrete in the graph shows that each type of immersion water has varying concrete compressive strength values. The compressive strength test results were obtained which reached the planned concrete quality of 25 Mpa, namely by testing immersion in river water with an average compressive strength of 25.10 Mpa. This means that when treating concrete with various types of immersion water, the normal pH of the water can be used and is suitable for caring for the concrete, so that the pH cannot be too acidic or too wet. When caring for concrete, it is not recommended to use water with a pH that is too high or low.
