Abstract

AN ANALYSIS OF STUDENTS’ LITERACY ON SUKUK (SHARIA BONDS) OF THE SHARIA BANK IN PEKANBARU CITY RAUF KESUMA WARDANA 202610206 This study was motivated by the importance of sharia financial literacy among students of sharia banking Study Program in Pekanbaru City, especially on sukuk (sharia bonds). The aim of the study was to analyze the literacy skills of the students of sharia banking study program on sukuk including the aspects of knowledge, skills, beliefs, financial attitudes and financial behavior. The study used a descriptive quantitative method with the data collection technique through questionnaires distributed to 83 randomly selected students. The population of the study consisted of 495 students of the sharia banking study programs from Islamic University of Riau, State Islamic University of Sultan Syarif Kasim, and Muhammadiyah University of Riau. The results of the study showed that the students’ literacy level on sukuk was in the very strong category. The detailed results showed that the students’ knowledge on sukuk of 79.9%, skills in using sukuk of 81.4%, confidence on sukuk of 83.1%, financial attitudes of 85.6%, and the financial behavior of 85.6%. And the total of these five indicators was 83.1%. Thus, this study has provided a clear picture of the literacy on sukuk among the students of sharia banking study program.
