Abstract
Based on the results of pre-study conducted by the researcher at SD Islam Plus YLPI Pekanbaru through interviews with one of the Arabic Language Teachers, the researcher found that the Arabic Language Learning Method that he applied had not provided satisfactory results for students especially in mastering Arabic vocabulary. The aims of the study are to find out whether the application of the Mimicry Memorization Method for mastering Arabic vocabulary among students at SD Islam Plus YLPI is effective and to find out how the percentage of the effect of Mimicry Memorization Method on students’ mastery of Arabic vocabulary at SD Islam Plus YLPI. This is a quantitative experimental study. The design of the study is a quasi experimental design or quasi experiment. Based on the results of the study, the application of Mimicry Memorization Method is considered effective in improving students’ mastery of Arabic vocabulary, as proven by the N-Gain score test in the experimental class which obtained a score of 71.3%, which is included in the high category. In conclusions, the results of the study show that: 1. The application of the mimicry-memorization method for students’ mastery of Arabic vocabulary at SD Islam Plus YLPI is effective. 2. The effectiveness of applying the Mimicry Memorization Method in mastering Arabic vocabulary among students at SD Islam Plus YLPI is 71.3%, which is at a high level. Based on the results of the study, the researcher can provide the following suggestions: The Mimicry Memorization Method can be applied as an innovation in learning and it is expected that the future researchers can apply other better and more creative learning strategies.
