Abstract

West Rangsang District consists of Melai Village, Mekar Baru Village, Anak Setatah Village, Bantar Village, and Permai Village. Potentially affected by abrasion throughout the year, caused by ocean waves. So that there is an average land shrinkage of 13.90 m / year. Which affects disaster-prone areas. This study aims to assess the level of vulnerability to abrasion disasters in West Rangsang District. The research method uses a quantitative descriptive approach. describe the social, economic, physical, and environmental conditions in the study area. Assessing the level of susceptibility to abrasion hazards is carried out through assessment of scores of (1) low, (2) medium and (3) high. GIS software is used to overlay maps, visualize the results of condition assessments in the research area, and determine the level of vulnerability of abrasion disasters. The results showed that areas on social vulnerability throughout West Rangsang District with a high vulnerability score of 3 consisted of Melai, Mekar Baru, Anak Setatah, Bantar and Permai Villages, in economic vulnerability throughout West Rangsang District with vulnerability scores of 1, 2 and 3, In terms of physical vulnerability, Bantar Village showed a low vulnerability score of 1, while Melai Village, Mekar Baru, Anak Setatah, and Permai have a moderate vulnerability score of 2. On the environmental side, Anak Setatah Village stands out with a low vulnerability score of 1, while Melai, Mekar Baru, Bantar, and Permai villages show a medium vulnerability score of 3.
