Abstract
The waste problem at the Siak Riverside RTH in Pekanbaru City can generally reduce the quality of the environment and make the area unhealthy and uncomfortable to use. The Siak Riverside RTH is also located on the banks of the river so it is vulnerable to pollution due to uncontrolled rubbish. So there is a need for direction on waste management in the area. The aim of this research is to create directions for waste management in Siak Riverside Green Open Space (RTH), Kampung Bandar Village, Senapelan District, Pekanbaru City, which includes waste storage and transportation patterns.. This research uses qualitative, quantitative and prescriptive descriptive approaches. Qualitative and quantitative descriptive methods are used to describe and calculate conditions and activities that have the potential to cause waste in the Siak Riverside RTH, as well as qualitative and qualitative descriptive methods to describe waste generation, waste composition and waste containers. Prescriptive methods are used to determine waste management directions. The results of research on waste generation were taken from 3 waste sources, namely garden waste amounting to 134 kg, stalls and street vendors amounting to 53.06 kg. The composition of organic garden waste is 48% and inorganic waste is 52%, while organic waste from stalls and street vendors is 19% and inorganic waste is 81%. The results of the directions for the waste processing system from the container are that park waste bins are placed in strategic locations, easily accessible to park visitors. The trash can consists of 10 points, each divided into 3 bins. So, the number of trash cans is still sufficient. Where the capacity of the trash can is 630 L while the average daily waste income is 423.36 L of organic waste and 458.64 L of non-organic waste and is still in the sufficient category. In the directions for transporting waste from RTH Siak Reversaide. From the existing conditions of waste from RTH Siak Reversaid, Pekanbaru City, the waste generation ratio is 1: ¾, meaning that the waste generated in one day can only be accommodated in one day. If transportation is carried out for more than one day, there will be excess waste. Therefore, transportation needs to be done every day, both organic and non-organic waste.
