Abstract
World energy needs have recently increased sharply, especially with the emergence of giant industrial countries. Facts show that energy consumption continues to increase in line with the rate of economic growth and population growth. Limited fossil energy sources cause the need to develop renewable energy and energy conservation, for example solar panels. One effort to increase the output of solar panels is to cool the surface of the solar panels, but solar panels cannot be powered continuously because they will reach temperatures below the optimal temperature, namely 25º-35°C, so a time lag is needed for the cooling medium to flow. The aim of this research is to find out whether there is an effect of giving a time delay in the flow of cooling media on the performance of solar panels and to find out which time delay has the best solar panel performance. The solar panel used has a capacity of 180 Wp with monocrystalline solar type with a flow time interval of 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 20 minutes and 25 minutes. Based on the experimental results, the longer the flow time, it turns out that the solar panel output decreases even though it is not too significant. Best performance at a flow time delay of 5 minutes with open circuit voltage (Voc) 40.1 V, short circuit current (Isc) 4.8 A, maximum power (Pmax) 35.60 Watt, fill factor 0.886, output power (Pout ) 170.53 W and an efficiency of more than 16%. So it can be concluded that if the average solar intensity is the same in all tests, then a 5 minute delay in the flow of solar panel performance is the best.
