Abstract

THE INFLUENCE OF ISLAMIC EDUCATION TEACHERS' DISCIPLINE ON RELIGIOUS CHARACTER OF GRADE 8 STUDENTS AT JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL 1 PANGKALAN KURAS PELALAWAN REGENCY ZHONY FRANSISCO NPM: 192410074 This research was motivated by the observation that some students could not yet be considered as having strong character due to behaviors that did not reflect character values, particularly in aspects of religiosity, honesty, responsibility, politeness, and discipline. For example, some students did not participate in prayers at the beginning of lessons, some were dishonest with teachers regarding school assignments, and others arrived late or did not wear complete uniforms during ceremonies. The problem addressed in this study was: Is there an influence of Islamic Education teachers' discipline on the religious character of Grade 8 students at Junior High School 1 Pangkalan Kuras, Pelalawan Regency? The type of research used was a survey with a quantitative approach. The population consisted of all Grade 8 students at Junior High School 1 Pangkalan Kuras, Pelalawan Regency. Data were collected through observations, questionnaires, and documentation. Based on the data analysis, it was found that the influence of teachers' discipline on students' religious character was evident from the Pearson product-moment probability value of 0.674, or 67.4%, within the correlation coefficient interval of 0.60–0.799. Therefore, it was concluded that there was an influence of teachers' discipline on the religious character of Grade 8 students at Junior High School 1 Pangkalan Kuras, Pelalawan Regency.
