Abstract

THE ROLE OF ISLAMIC STUDIES TEACHERS IN IMPROVING STUDENT DISCIPLINE IN PERFORMING THE CONGREGATIONAL DHUHR PRAYER AT SMAN 3 TUALANG RENALDO SUDHARTA GANI 192410049 Based on the background of the study, it was found that there was a lack of guidance in performing the fardhu Dhuhr prayer at SMAN 3 Tualang, as well as the low student discipline in carrying out the fardhu Dhuhr prayer in congregation. Even though the prayer time has begun, there were still many students who did not have the awareness to pray and wait for orders from the teachers. In Islamic teachings, every Muslims is required to perform prayers as regulated in the Shari'a, and prayer is the most important act of worship. Islam plays a major role in shaping a person's attitudes and behavior, which can be seen from the ways in daily life. Therefore, the aim of the study was to investigate the role of Islamic Studies teachers in improving student discipline in performing the congregational Dhuhr prayer at SMAN 3 Tualang. The type of the study was qualitative, which described the actual situation. The results of the study can be concluded that the role of Islamic Studies teachers at SMAN 3 Tualang in improving student discipline in performing the congregational prayer is quite good, with various coaching efforts to encourage students to have awareness in performing the congregational prayer, although there were some students who still lacked discipline in its implementation.
