Abstract

THE INFLUENCE OF TEACHERS’ TEACHING SKILLS ON STUDENTS’ MOTIVATION IN LEARNING FIQH AT MTS MUHAMMDIYAH 02 PEKANBARU BY : DWI YULIANA 182410377 This study aimed to investigate whether there was an influence of teachers’ teaching skills on students’ motivation in learning Fiqh at MTs Muhammadiyah 02 Pekanbaru. This study useda quantitative method with a correlational approach. To determine the sample of the study, the Slovin formula was used with a margin of error of 5%. The population consisted of 180 students and the sample taken was 125 students. The data collection techniques of the study were questionnaires and documentation. The results of thestudyshowed that there was an influence of teachers’ teaching skills on students’ learning motivation with a significance value of 0.000. Before implementing the teachers’ teaching skills, the constant value (a) was 12.003, which identified a low level of students’ learning motivation. It can be predicted that if the teachers’ teaching skills increase by 1%, so the students’ learning motivation will increase by 0.752 (X). On the other hand, if there is no teacher’s teaching skill, the students’ learning motivation will be predicted to decrease by 0.752 or 75.2%. The magnitude of influence of the teachers’ teaching skills on students’ learning motivation was (0.627 or 62.7%), meaning that the majority of students’ learning motivation were influenced by the skills possessed by the teachers in the learning process. The relationship between the teachers’ teaching skills and the students’ learning motivation was 0.792 or 79.2%. The R-value (0.792) was in the range of 0.799 included in the high category. In conclusion, there was a fairly high relationship between the teachers’ teaching skills and students’ motivation in learning Fiqh at MTs Muhammadiyah 02 Pekanbaru.
