Abstract
Children with mild intellectual disabilities experienced limitations, particularly in academic learning, especially in mathematics. Therefore, the research objective was to determine the influence of the traditional game of congklak on the counting ability of children with mild intellectual disabilities at Humanika Psychology Center in Pekanbaru. The study aimed to examine whether the traditional game of congklak had an impact on the counting ability of children with mild intellectual disabilities at Humanika Psychology Center in Pekanbaru. This research used a quantitative method employing a single-subject or small group experimental approach. The research design utilized an A-B-A design. Probably sampling with simple random sampling was employed, involving the random selection of 16 individuals from the research population. Three students were used as subjects. The data analysis technique for this research utilized time series analysis. The results of the study indicated that there was an impact of the traditional game of congklak on improving counting abilities in children with mild intellectual disabilities at Humanika Psychology Center in Pekanbaru. The pretest results were 7, 6, 7, while the posttest results showed an improvement in counting abilities with scores of 12, 9, 12 for children with mild intellectual disabilities at Humanika Psychology Center in Pekanbaru.
