Abstract
Shell briquettes are an alternative energy source that comes from coconut waste. Therefore, with the development of technology, this is an alternative to meet human needs, which will be used to make or create a useful machine, namely a briquette printing machine with an automatic system. By making this tool, researchers hope that this tool will be useful for the community for making coconut shell charcoal briquettes. The working principle of this briquette printing machine with an automatic system is to use a screw conveyor shaft with reduced resistance to rotate the briquette mixture towards the mold so that it forms briquettes, where the rotation of the screw conveyor is transmitted through the shaft which is the result of the rotation of the pully which is driven by an electric motor. And the process of cutting the briquettes that come out of the mold mouth will be cut automatically via instructions from the proximity sensor. From the results of the design for making this briquette machine, the briquettes produced are with a size of P = 2.5 T = 2.5 L = 2.5 and the working capacity of the tool is obtained with the weight of the briquettes obtained being 18 kg/hour. This briquette printing machine uses a 1 HP motor power and an engine speed of 1420 Rpm.
