Abstract

THE INFLUENCE OF LAND USE ON THE RISE AND PULL OF MOVEMENT (CASE STUDY: ARIFIN ACHMAD STREET CORRIDOR) ABSTRACT Land use in the Arifin Achmad Street Corridor is dominated by trade, services, and industrial activities located on the border of this corridor which will have an impact on increasing the volume of vehicles passing through the Arifin Achmad Street Corridor at certain hours so that this road corridor has several congestion points because it is unable to accommodate the intensity of the volume of vehicles passing by. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence between land use and the generation and pull of movement generated by land use activities in the Arifin Achmad Street Corridor. This study used quantitative methods in the form of pearson correlation analysis to measure the effect of land use on the rise and pull of movement. Land use data is obtained from observations while land area data is calculated using Arc-GIS against satellite imagery maps sourced from Google Earth. Then movement data is obtained by conducting field observations by observing the number of vehicles at several predetermined points. The results of this study show that there is a very strong relationship between land use and the rise and pull of movement in the Arifin Achmad Street Corridor with a total correlation coefficient value of 0.93 which means a very strong correlation.Land Use, Generation and Movement Attraction
