Abstract

This study is motivated by the problem of learning concentration, students whose low concentration in the learning process can disrupt the teaching and learning process to understand the lessons given by the teacher because the learning concentration is one of the keys to the success of students’ learning activity and learning objectives. Based on these problems, the researcher is interested to conduct a study on the influence of school environment on learning concentration. The problem formulation of the study is: Is there an influence of the school environment on students’ concentration in learning Islamic Studies in grade X at SMAN 10 Pekanbaru? This study aims to investigate the influence of school environment on students’ concentration in learning Islamic Studies in grade X at SMAN 10 Pekanbaru. This is a quantitative study with a correlational approach. The subjects of the study are students in grade X of SMAN 10 Pekanbaru. And the object of the study is the influence of school environment on students’ concentration in learning Islamic Studies in grade X at SMAN 10 Pekanbaru. Meanwhile, the sample of the study is taken from the entire population, namely 85 students. Based on the results of data processing and data analysis performed by SPSS 22, it is found that the probability value Sig. of 0.000. Because the significance value is less than 0.05, namely 0.000 > 0.05, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the school environment on students’ concentration in learning Islamic Studies in grade X at SMAN 10 Pekanbaru. The level of influence of the school environment on the learning concentration can be seen from the Pearson product moment probability value, which is 0.338 in the correlation coefficient interval or 33.8%, which is in the range of 0.20 - 0.399. It means that the influence of the school environment on students’ concentration in learning Islamic Studies in grade X at SMAN 10 Pekanbaru is in the weak category.
