Abstract

This is a quantitative study with a correlational method to investigate the influence of teacher’s teaching style (interactional) on students’ motivation in learning Islamic Studies at SMPIT Al-Fityah Pekanbaru. The subject of the study is the students of SMPIT Al-Fityah Pekanbaru and the object of the study is the teacher’s teaching style (interactional). The data collection techniques of the study are questionnaires and observation. The problem formulation of the study is whether there is an influence of the teacher's teaching style (interactional) on students’ motivation in learning Islamic Studies at SMPIT Al-Fityah Pekanbaru. The main aim of the study is to investigate the influence of teacher’s teaching style (interactional) on students’ learning motivation at SMPIT Al-Fityah Pekanbaru. The data of the study are analyzed by using a simple linear regression statistical test. The results of the study show that there is a positive influence of the teacher’s interactional teaching style (independent variable) on students’ learning motivation (dependent variable). The results of the simple linear regression statistical test show that the constant value (a) is 75.778, describing the consistent value of the variable of students’ learning motivation. In addition, the coefficient value of the teacher’s interactional teaching style (b) is 0.233, indicating that there is a significant positive influence between the teacher’s interactional teaching style and the students’ learning motivation. Based on the findings from data analysis, it can be concluded that the teacher’s interactional teaching style has a positive influence on students’ motivation in learning Islamic Studies at SMPIT Al-Fityah Pekanbaru. This study provides an important contribution to understanding the importance of the role of teacher interaction in increasing students’ learning motivation, especially in the context of learning Islamic Studies at SMPIT Al-Fityah Pekanbaru.
