Abstract

This research was motivated by data from the National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) of Rokan Hilir Regency, which showed that only 3 traders paid trade zakat each year. The author also conducted field observations and found that only 5% were aware of trade zakat. The purpose of this research was to determine the level of knowledge among tofu and tempe producers in Bagan Sinembah sub-district, Rokan Hilir Regency, regarding trade zakat. This research employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive research method, utilizing survey techniques. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and documentation. The research subjects were 43 tofu and tempe producers in Bagan Sinembah sub-district, Rokan Hilir Regency. Descriptive data analysis involved data editing, coding, tabulation, and the use of Microsoft Excel. The results of this research indicated that the analysis of the level of knowledge among tofu and tempe producers regarding trade zakat in Bagan Sinembah sub-district, Rokan Hilir Regency, was 54%, categorized as "sufficient." The sufficient range is 41-60%. This means that the analysis of the knowledge level among tofu and tempe producers regarding trade zakat in Bagan Sinembah sub-district, Rokan Hilir Regency, shows that not all producers are aware of trade zakat; they only have a general understanding of zakat.
