Abstract
Inter-ethnic marriages in Kuantan Singingi Regency, especially in a religious context, are a major concern because these marriages are considered a way to maintain customs and cultural identity. However, from a religious perspective, views on the implementation of marriage vary, depending on the interpretation of the teachings adhered to. The implementation of same-ethnic marriages based on religious views in the region supports the implementation of inter-ethnic marriages as a form of obedience to cultural norms as long as they do not conflict with religious principles, while others consider aspects of equality, diversity and justice as important elements that must be considered in the implementation of marriages. Based on the background, the formulation of the problem that arises is: Firstly, how is marriage between ethnic groups implemented in the traditional community of Mudik sub-district, Kuantan Singingi Regency. Second, what is the view of Islamic law regarding the implementation of same-ethnic marriages in Mudik District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. The research was carried out using an empirical approach, an approach carried out by examining theories, concepts and statutory regulations related to this research and also by looking at the facts in the implementation of marriages carried out by two couples of the same ethnic group in indigenous communities in Mudik District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. The method of drawing conclusions used by the author is the deductive conclusion method, namely drawing conclusions from things that are specific to things that are specific. Based on the author's discussion and research results, the implementation of same-ethnic marriages in the traditional community of Mudik District in Kuantan Singingi Regency is strictly prohibited from happening in their tribe. If such a marriage occurs, both partners must be able to accept heavy sanctions from traditional institutions, the community and the family. The view of Islamic law regarding the implementation of same-ethnic marriages in Mudik District, Kuantan Singingi Regency, same-ethnic marriages can be carried out if they obtain permission from the ninik mamak, after that a marriage permit is issued by the village head and after the ninik mamak and the village head give permission then the marriage can be carried out in an Islamic manner and applicable legislation.
