Abstract

Sexual violence against children is one of the serious problems currently facing the government because it is related to the government’s efforts to implement the child protection law No.35 of 2014. On the other hand, children who experience sexual violence are part of society whose development is immature, both physically and psychologically, so it requires special assistance in handling it. The formulation of the problem in this research is what form of legal protection is given to child victims of sexual violence in the legal area of the Kuantan Singingi Regency Police and what are the obstacles in providing legal protection to child victims of sexual violence in the legal area of the Kuantan Singingi Regency Police. The research method used by the author is the empirical legal research method, namely field research, which aims to collect primary and secondary data obtained from resndents. This research was carried out by collecting data or information in the field in the form of interviews. Based on the results of this research, the form of legal protection provided to child victims of sexual violence in the Kuantan Singingi Police Legal Area is through counseling for victims, providing medical assistance to victims, providing legal assistance, supervision, keeping their identities secret and carrying out various preventative efforts. In implementing protection for child victims of sexual violence in the jurisdiction of the Kuantan Singingi Police, there are several obstacles such as funding, experts as companions in the process of legal protection for victims, as well as facilities and infrastructure.
