Abstract

The agricultural sector in Riau Province is very important because the majority of its people work as farmers and employees in the agricultural sector, besides that the agricultural sector is a driving force for the Village to City economy. So the development of the agricultural sector in Riau Province is related to domestic investment. The purpose of this study is to analyze (1) the development of domestic investment in the agricultural sector in Riau Province from 1990 to 2020, (2) Factors that have a significant effect on domestic investment in the agricultural sector in Riau Province from 1990 to 2020, (3) ) Policy simulation on domestic investment in the agricultural sector of Riau Province from 1990 to 2020. This research was conducted in Riau Province from September 2022 to February 2023. This research used the library research method. This study uses secondary data and the data collected consists of data on the price index of agricultural products, inflation rates, interest rates, domestic investment in the agricultural sector. Data were obtained from the Central Statistics Agency for Riau Province in a time series from 1990 to 2020. Data analysis included: annual development using the growth formula of the Microsoft Exel Software analysis tool. Factors that influence domestic investment were analyzed using multiple regression analysis with the Eviews 12 analysis tool. Policy simulation analysis on domestic investment in the Riau Province agricultural sector used the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) formula with the Microsoft Exel Software analysis tool. The results of research on the development of the agricultural product price index, the inflation rate, the interest rate, on domestic investment in the agricultural sector in Riau Province experienced fluctuations from 1990 to 2020. The results of the multiple linear regression analysis of the influential factors were: the agricultural product price index had a positive effect of 9.870 percent, the inflation rate has a positive effect of 5.301 percent, interest rates have a negative effect of -4.818 percent, on domestic investment in the agricultural sector of Riau Province from 1990 to 2020. The results of variable policy simulations affect domestic investment in the agricultural sector of Riau Province from 1990 to 2020 as follows: the price index for agricultural products increased by 5 percent to obtain a volume of 26.93 percent, the lowest decrease was -24.93 percent, and the highest increase was 28.93 percent. The inflation rate fell 3 percent to obtain a volume of 34.65 percent, the lowest decrease was -33.50 percent and the highest increase was 35.78 percent. The interest rate decreased by 5 percent to obtain a volume of 34.48 percent, the lowest decrease was -33.44 percent, and the highest increase was 35.50 percent. a combination of policy simulations 1, 2, and 3, obtained a volume of 26.64 percent, for domestic investment in the Riau Province agricultural sector from 1990 to 2020, the lowest decrease was -24.46 percent and the highest increase was 28.82 percent.
